What is this conference?

pARTicipate is an interactive conference utilizing your creativity, skills and ideas. It marks the first time in almost 15 years that Kansans who believe in the power of the arts will come together to share ideas, concerns and expertise. Conference content and success depend on YOU.

During the Friday Vision session, YOUR specific needs, niches, missions, passions, experience and circumstances will determine the content of all six sessions, which will be scheduled on the spot.

The conference is based on the "Open Space" concept. Participants will create their own conference. Here are the basic principles:

• Everyone who comes must be passionate about the power of the arts and willing to take some resonsibility for creating things out of that passion.
• Whoever comes are the right people.
• Whatever happens is the only thing that could have.
• The Law of Two Feet: If you find yourself in a situation where you are not learning or contributing, go to another table/group. You may see this as moving to another session or moving to another level of awareness and participation.
• At the closing session, you will receive information about how to access the notes and reports from each of the conference sessions in the form that will be most usable to you.
