John Tait Art Auction - Monday, November 24, 6:00—9:00 pm, at the Hallar Gallery on Main Street near the Plaza. Fun, food, football player action art by professional artists, autographs, and prints of 2002 art. New this year will be an opportunity to bid on art by some of Kansas City's finest artists. Sculpture, fabric, watercolor, oils, acrylics. Rita Blit, Phil Jones, Mark Manning, David Melby, and Mike Toombs are just a few of the artists who will be represented. A benefit for Accessible Arts. Exploration in Art - A series of one-hour workshops (10:30-11:30 am) at Dreams Work with adults who have disabilities. Participants will explore a variety of tactile and visual art forms. For more information, call 913.281.1133.

The Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel - Booking now April 2004 tour - for youth ages 7-14 and their families. This musical play about the hero in each of us was commissioned by Accessible Arts, Inc. and The Theatrical Company, and is performed by professional actors. The characters, of different abilities, discover that each of them has a unique voice and skills. Each one overcomes a specific challenge and uses his or her own ability as a productive part of the team. Following the one-hour performance, Accessible Arts artists are available to conduct interactive arts workshops for individual classes. For more information, call 913.281.1133.

After-School Arts Club - Applications are now being taken for youth in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Professional artists will engage children of all abilities in a variety of arts projects. We also encourage educators and caregivers to schedule sessions with their students for special projects or to observe our classes as a part of their own development. Some scholarships will be available.

Art of Learning Follow-ups - Participants (and their invited guests) will regroup in Salina on Saturday, January 17 (RSVP by January 14, 2004) and in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, January 31, 2004 (RSVP by January 28). AAI will provide lunch, and participants will talk about successes and challenges encountered following the summer programs. To meet the needs participants have identified, trainers will provide additional hands-on workshops, support, ideas, and resources.
